In the wide range of short weapons, the C-96 has the honor of being called "classic", also known as "Broomhandle". It was a semi-automatic pistol made in Germany from 1896 to 1937, created by the great Peter Paul Mauser. This semi-automatic pistol, with over a century of history, has an extremely functional and practical design that has led to it being recognized as one of the best weapons in the world.
The German army received more than 100,000 units, which it used during the First World War, where short-range fighting in the trenches abounded. Communist Russia acquired large quantities of C-96, a weapon that eventually received the nickname "Bolo-Mauser", that is, the Bolshevik Mauser. When the Second World War began in 1939, the C-96 was still active.
Although no country has recognized it as a regulatory weapon, it has been used in all warlike events in the first half of the 20th century.
